Amy’s Kitchen has voluntarily recalled about 74,000 cases of frozen food items because they could contain listeria-tainted spinach, the organic prepared-food company announced in a statement
“While we are unaware of any illnesses, we immediately contacted FDA and out of an abundance of caution are voluntarily recalling the specific lots of some of our frozen foods identified below,” the company said.
A number of lasagna, brown rice and pasta meals are being pulled from shelves after an organic spinach supplier notified Amy’s Kitchen that the Northern California-based company could have received spinach tainted with listeria.
The items under the recall have been distributed throughout the United States and Canada, and Amy’s Kitchen has contacted retailers about the problem, the company said. Consumers who have already bought these products can return them for a full refund.
